Khajuraho

Myth, legend and history possibly all these three things come together in the Khajuraho Temple. Creativity of Indian culture has been beautifully incised in the rock walls of these temples. These grand temples are enclosed by the hills and forests. These temples were disclosed in1838. Most of these temples reflect Hinduism and Jainism.

These 950 and 1050 A.D. constructed temples were built during the Chandal Empire. Khajuraho, name is derived from the khajoor or date trees which can be seen in galore around these temples. The architectural excellence of the Indian medieval period can be seen in these temples. These temples don't comprise any erotic art inside the temple but external curves contain pictures which show some finest art craft of Indian civilization. They mainly demonstrate the human relations with each other and the almighty god.
